So tomorrow I am attending another wedding. Back to back weekends of weddings. Last weekend, when it came to that time, the wedding reception ritual, I noticed something. When it was time to throw the bouquet, there were a fair amount of single women ready to catch it. When it was time for us guys to catch the garter, there weren’t too many of us single guys to try and catch the “prize”. Seemed like everyone was married already except for the teens and a couple of us guys.
This got me thinking, the older I get, the more weddings I go to, who will be the lone guy catching the garter. Sure, I’m definitely in no hurry to tie the knot, but should I be. I don’t think so. Then, you get those questions at the reception, “How about you Jeff? When are you getting married?” I think to myself, are you seriously asking me this question. I’m single, hell, I’m not even looking. And I’m fine with that.
So, another wedding tomorrow. Third wheeling it again. But insanely, a wedding w/~450+ guests. So, I figure I’ll be lost in the crowd, which I generally seem to be. Not going to draw needless attention to myself (unless alcohol is involved, then all bets are off). I’ll sit there with friends, toasting to the happy newlyweds. Another good man down. Who’s next? Not me.
I’m just sayin’©

I wish I had a “Try it if to see if you like it option”. But I don’t. So, should I take the full time job in Ontario, Canada, which wants me to start ASAP (w/in the next 2 weeks), or should I stay here in San Diego, in hopes of getting a permanent position?

Cancer (6/22-7/22)
You’ll wake up in the mood to get out of the house, have some serious fun and leave your worries behind. With the stars currently turning up the volume on your charm, finding playmates who are game won’t be a problem. You may need to divide your attention between family members and friends who’ve been whining about not seeing you in far too long, but it’s just the price of being popular. Once you’ve arrived, your time is no longer your own.
So quit your whining, I’ll see you eventually.
