~100 tables, each Table with 10 players, top two on each table move on to tomorrow’s final round. I was playing superbly, knocked out a few players, dominated the game, bluffed my way into several big pots. Before I knew it, I had over half the chips in play. Kept pushing players to have to play good hands as I kept raising pre flop, I was confident that I’d be moving on… then it comes down to 3 handed… I still had a commanding chip lead over the 2 ladies that remained… I was not wary of their skill as I was concentrating on knocking out the guys on the table.
After a dozen hands or so, the blinds reached 500/1000 with a 100 ante, I was on the small blind, the button folded. I had a K6 off suit… I was tempted to steal the big blind there and push all in… I should have… instead, I limped and let the big blind see the flop… out comes 345 rainbow, I had an open ended straight draw, so I said, fuck it, All in… she INSTA CALLS… Big blind was holding 6 deuce… SIX FUCKING DEUCE… she flopped a straight! Turn and river offered no help, and although I had her covered in chips, it was a huge crush and I was not able to recover. I turned to her and said, “I should have went all in preflop, was doing it all day and wasn’t thinking straight.”
Hindsight is 20/20 of course, that one move cost me a seat in the final round. It was fun, it was a free tournament, and I’m still up, but I really shouldn’t hesitate next time, especially that late in the round, when blinds are high and the pressure is on.

It’s the end of January, and I need to get into high gear. I need some self motivation. Going nowhere fast, it’s starting to get unsettling. At this point, I think I’ll just send out my resume to the world and see where it lands. Luckily I’m surviving with savings and unemployment checks. It should last me for awhile… but I don’t want to deplete it. Luckily with the checks coming in the mail, my savings can stay in tact. Time to buckle down and get going. As a friend put it bluntly… no excuses.

My New Years Resolution is to tweet less and to blog more. Is that something you really wanted to hear? I mean, there are 500+ of you following my twitter account, maybe if I tweet less, I’ll lose followers, maybe I’ll gain tumblr followers instead. I’ve been limiting my thoughts to 140 characters or less. I think it’s time to get back on the blog wagon. I used to write pages of nonsense that I fondly looked back on, but with Twitter, I’ve not been able to go back and look at important things or what not. We’ll see how this goes, maybe it’ll just be a fluke, maybe I won’t write again for another month or 2. Maybe I’ll just go back to tweeting… hopefully I can do both.
Thanks for reading, I’ll see you around.

I was getting the 3rd degree, I had to show them my ticket stub and my hotel reservation. Grilled me as to why the hell would I be in Vancouver and they couldn’t believe that I was such a die hard Ducks fan. They even asked me to name players on the team. The main reason they gave me for the interrogation was my unemployment status and also that I didn’t know anyone in Vancouver. Can’t a guy be a tourist and just travel solo for a weekend anymore to a different country?
Wanted to post this before I forgot… almost did. Wonder if I’ll have this much trouble re-entering the US. Hope not, I’ve got a Chargers vs Seahawks game to get to.

That’s the map, that’s when and where I’m going. I’ve got destinations. I’ve always wanted to visit/go back to these places. But now I’ve got the problem of not having planned on what exactly I’ll be doing when I get to said places. The only places I’m sure about are Vancouver for a Ducks game and my return to the US in Seattle for a Chargers game (my first NFL game, and it’s in enemy territory). So, I’m asking you to help me fill in the blanks. What should I do when I get to my destinations… Some places I have a good 3 or 4 days, others I only have a day. Send me a message, post a reply. I’m hoping my friends here have good ideas.

I’ve got my plans set from Sept 7th-26th, with stops at San Francisco, Portland, Washington DC, Boston (still need accommodations there), and Seattle (and maybe a day trip to Vancouver). Then from the Sept 27th-Oct 1st, might just say what the heck, and fly to a different destination daily. That would be crazy, wouldn’t it? Then on the 3rd I head to Orlando, and finally on October 6th, I finish it off in NYC… good times to be had indeed.
